PGI Geotechnical Group was founded with a straightforward mission: to deliver the kind of rigorous, site-specific geotechnical investigation that North Queensland's construction and infrastructure sectors had long demanded but rarely received from providers with genuine local geological expertise.
Based in Townsville — the commercial and engineering hub of North Queensland — we have grown into a fully-resourced geotechnical engineering group with the equipment, technical capability and field personnel to mobilise anywhere across the vast NQ region, from coastal Townsville to the remote Gulf Country and the outback communities of the far north-west.
More than a decade of continuous operation across NQ's extraordinarily varied geological terrains — from Quaternary alluvial and estuarine deposits of the coast, through the weathered granite and metamorphic terrains of the interior, to the ancient sedimentary sequences of the Mount Isa Inlier — has given us an unparalleled body of local geological knowledge that we bring to every new project.
Today, PGI Geotechnical Group partners with builders, structural engineers, civil contractors, local governments, mining companies and infrastructure agencies to deliver investigations, site classifications, slope stability assessments and engineering geology studies that underpin safe, cost-effective construction across one of Australia's most geographically challenging regions.
